Laura Pivirotto Thomas

Laura grew up in La Canada, California. She earned a B.A in Psychology from Scripps College and moved to Seattle where she earned her PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Washington in 2010. Her research focused on human color vision and more specifically the interaction between rod and cone signals in perceived hue. Laura has lived in Tulsa since 2009 with her husband Robert who works at West River Group Venture Capital and her son Beckett (12). Her older son Grayden (18) is a freshman at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA.

She enjoys being involved with community functions and volunteering her time. For the last 8 years she has been the co-chair of the Community Building Committee for her son’s school, Undercroft Montessori. The committee’s jobs are running school wide events in order to strengthen the community and the school’s annual fundraising gala, fUNDERaiser. Not only is she a great role model to her sons and volunteers her time to bring communities together. Her favorite activities are reading, cooking for her friends and family, playing with their pittie mix, Winston, and cats, Nebbie and Toby.
